In 2008, Hao Miao moved to Kharkov, Ukraine, to continue his studies at the Kharkov National University of Arts with professor L.A.Kholodenko. He performed several solo recitals every year in Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Simferopol, Kiev and other cities in Ukraine, as well as in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He won the Grand Prize at the "Zolotaya Lira" Competition and received a silver medal at the Kiev’s "Twenty-first Century Art" Competition. He gave his concerto debut in Kharkov in 2010. The same year he participated in the master classes with Natalia Boyarsky of Yehudi Menuhin School and Royal College of Music. In Spring 2013, while graduating from the Kharkov University of Arts, Hao Miao has performed several recitals, one of which featured The 24 Caprices by Niccolo Paganini. Later he repeated the program in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China.
In August 2013, Hao Miao started his Artist Certificate studies at the University of North Texas in the United States of America, under the tutelage of Julia Bushkova. He has performed on faculty recital weekly. The same year he had master classes with Alexander Kerr, Concertmaster of Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Victor Danchenko of Curtis Institute of Music. He won 3rd Prize in Mid-Texas Symphony Orchestra Competition and had his first solo recital in US in Texas Denton in November.
In 2015, Hao Miao has won the Concerto Competition of UNT College of Music. In 2016 he gave his concerto debut in the US with UNT Symphony Orchestra. He won 2nd prize in Naftzger Young Artists Audition in Kansas in February .
Miao Hao, violin
Hao Miao was born in Inner Mongolia, an autonomous region of the People's Republic of China. He began playing violin at the age of four and later moved to Shanghai, where he studied in the Shanghai Music School under the auspices of the Shanghai Conservatory from 2001 to 2008. His teachers were Mingen Zhou and ShiSheng Zheng. During that time he was chosen to perform in the masterclasses with Zakhar Bron (2002) and regularly performed in the school gala presentations. In 2002 and 2007 he participated in the International summer festivals in Germany where he studied with Nicolas Chumachenko, professor of violin at Hochschule fúr Musik Freiburg. He gave his first full recital at the age of eleven at the Shanghai Orchestra Hall. Since that time he performed yearly recitals in Shanghai and Inner Mongolia.
